Who We Are

Serving the Greater Boston area Since 2012

Restoration Church, initially planted as Restoration Road Church in 2012, was founded by Pastor Joie Thomson with the support of Seven Mile Road Church in Melrose. From the beginning, our mission has been to help broken people find restoration in Jesus. 

What started as a small gathering of about 15 people in a school auditorium has since grown into a vibrant congregation. Over the years, we’ve baptized many new believers, and in 2018, we purchased a historic church building where our Wakefield location now worships.

In March 2026, Restoration Church welcomed its second location in Winthrop through a transition rooted in shared vision and deep care for the community. For years, Pastor Jason Tallent faithfully served and led Harbor City Church, shepherding the congregation with a steady dedication to the town of Winthrop. Guided by a desire to see that gospel work continue and flourish long into the future, Pastor Jason initiated the conversation for Harbor City Church to officially become part of Restoration Church.

Around that same time, Pastor Kevin Scott at Church at the Well in East Boston felt similar to Pastor Jason and knew that God was leading them in a different direction. So over the next few months, working in close cooperation with their leadership, we planted our third location in their existing space and welcomed their members into our church family. Our East Boston location officially launched in August of 2026.

As we continue to grow, our focus is to plant 5 new churches across Greater Boston in the next 10 years.
